The restaurant is located in Huize Frankendael, where the Merkelbach family used to live, just outside the city. The city has now embraced the location; the outdoors is now indoors. Dining at Restaurant Merkelbach feels like dining with the family. It's a special place where people meet in a homely atmosphere. The interior by Studio Groen+Schild contributes to guests feeling welcome and at home. The architects have opted for a timeless design that complements the surroundings. They have used contrasts, with accents in the original color ochre yellow and flower colors found in the garden. This way, the outdoor merges with the indoor, and the old with the new.
