On the Bokkingshang in Deventer, there used to be an inner harbor with warehouses. The water is gone, but the buildings still serve as reminders. They were built for storage, including bokking, salted herring. One of these warehouses has been transformed into four apartments and a retail/working space on behalf of "Wonen boven Winkels" (Living above Shops). The entrance to the workspace is located on the Bokkingshang. For the apartments, we created a separate entrance with storage rooms at the rear of the building. To ensure sufficient daylight in the apartments, modern window frames were added to the historic architecture. Adjacent to the warehouse on the right was a small piece of land. On the ground floor, this became an additional space for the shop. For the apartments above, we were able to create beautiful spacious balconies, with the top balcony offering views of the IJssel River.
