The UAF is the oldest refugee organization in the Netherlands. It supports highly educated refugees in achieving a suitable societal position. The organization was founded in 1948 after the student uprising in Prague was brutally suppressed. A group of fifty Czech students fled to the Netherlands. At the initiative of Dutch universities, they were given the opportunity to continue their studies in the Netherlands. Studio Groen+Schild, in collaboration with SKVL, designed the new office in Utrecht. In addition to color, various stories of the refugees have been incorporated into the design. This reflects the identity of the organization in the interior.
