The Dutch consulates are located in anonymous office buildings. The design question was to design two representative consulates that can be recognized as Dutch consulates. We have created a timeless and light design with many natural materials. Light wooden floors, bamboo walls and lots of glass. The design looked at a natural transition of the spaces. The design is based on the Feng Shui principles, a wish of the user. The materials used are the same at both consulates, the colors are different: ocher yellow in Shanghai and Chinese red in Guangzhou. The furniture has been included in the design as much as possible, consular desks, writing desks, waiting benches and cabinets have been designed by us and are part of the design. The loose furniture consists of Dutch classics (Gispen) and contemporary furniture in traditional rib fabrics.
