Where once tthe trucks drove into the silo to take their loads, now the workbenches of Studio Groen+Schild occupy the loading floor. This design has ensured that the sturdy character of the interior of the silo has been retained. The funnel openings, the chains, the rough concrete and the brick walls are still there. An extra level has been added with an extension constructed in steel and glass. It extends four metres outside the building. The design is energy efficient and the silo has no gas connection. Heating and cooling is provided using a heat pump.
