DAVO forms the entrance to Deventer's Havenkwartier (Harbour Quarter) together with the Eijsink manufacturing plant. The industrial character of these prominent former buildings of industry are the face of the area. NV Maatschappelijk Vastgoed wanted to ensure the property was retained for the area and to expand the possibilities of use for the building. A thorough renovation was essential. The existing white plastic frames were replaced by new black frames. The installing of the frames was based on the original industrial frames of which we found the drawings in the archive. The building now has three new inviting entrances; the Kunstenlab on the vibrant Havenplein (Harbour square), the Smartlab on the Noorzeestraat and the studios and ateliers a known feature on the Mr. de Boerlaan.
