Since 2020, Zadelhoff has been working on the transformation of the former Slotervaart Hospital in Amsterdam-West. Centrum voor Zorg Slotervaart offers space for social organizations, care providers, and social entrepreneurs to settle under one roof; 'a location where care, living, business, learning, creation, enjoyment, inspiration, and innovation are all interconnected.' Studio Groen+Schild won the pitch to create the interior design for the entrance of the cross-shaped building.

In the welcoming entrance, a homely atmosphere prevails where you can wait for your appointment or enjoy a cup of coffee. The space is clear, light, and inviting. The architecture is straightforward and orthogonal. Circles play the leading role in the interior design. The large round reception desk and the lighting above it make it clear where to go. Additionally, the round shapes create a logical flow, allowing visitors to find their way effortlessly.

The beautiful slate floor and concrete cassette ceiling are preserved, forming the foundation of the striking brutalist architecture and adding character to the space. New elements, such as the reception desk, cabinets, and seating, are designed in oak wood—a warm material that contrasts with the existing concrete. Large round rugs help to define zones and provide a pleasant acoustic environment. Young, old, healthy, sick, patient, or visitor—everyone who comes here can feel at home.
